EYES WIDE OPEN: NEPAL MASTERCLASS

A Creative Pilgrimage to the Roof of the World.

Daring to tell a story, and to tell it well, takes personal courage and great discipline.
Over the years, people have asked me two questions:
How does a story happen?
And can they join me in the field?

The idea of offering exclusive masterclasses is something I’ve carried with me for many years. A vision shaped by time and experience.
Field life has been kind and incredibly generous.
I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to pass that experience on.

This is for those who seek more. A life-changing experience to awaken your voice, deepen your vision, and give form to what’s inside you.

So often, artists speak of stories they hope to tell, but never begin.
A storyteller needs more than inspiration. They need structure, commitment, and a clear path.

In this masterclass, you’ll learn what it takes to finish your story and walk away with a body of work you can truly build on.

If this sounds like the right fit for you, let’s have a Zoom call and talk about making your vision a reality, with clarity, support, and the tools to get you there.

See you on the trail.

Work with purpose, presence, and a real deadline.
You’ll leave with a portfolio and a new way of seeing.

  • Debra has a rare gift for transforming complex subjects into intimate, moving stories. A seasoned, soulful adventure traveler, she doesn’t just show you where to look, she teaches you how to see. With her, you’re not just learning storytelling through image, feeling, and light; you’re learning to listen, to witness, to be fully present. Her masterclass isn’t just a course—it’s one of the most transformative experiences you’ll ever have.

    Frank Giustra, Global Philanthropist

  • Debra’s work often intertwines personal narratives with global themes, offering a profound and intimate perspective in the field. She builds trusting relationships with her subjects and crew, creating a working environment rooted in respect and sensitivity. Debra empowers her collaborators to push beyond their creative boundaries and exceed their own expectations.

    Igor Kropotov, Director Of Photography

  • The thing about working with Debra for so many years is that every time I see her name appear on my phone, it means there is a new adventure on its way. We share a love for being out in the field. Debra always seeks interesting people and meaningful stories, which she knows how to convey most compellingly. Throughout our long-lasting collaboration, I have been guided by Debra’s incredible eye, sense of framing, and high standards—the eye of a long-time trained photographer-filmmaker in the field. Debra knows what she wants, is ambitious about her projects, and never gives up. Through experience, I have learned from her that nothing is impossible.
